From A 12-Year-Old Gymnast To Building A Canadian Brand

At 12 years old, I was a competitive gymnast with super thick hair and a problem I couldn’t solve.

Every hair elastic I used would either slip out during training, stretch after a few wears, pull my hair, or leave creases that never seemed to go away. I was constantly searching for something better.

Then, while travelling in the United States, I discovered braided hair elastics and immediately noticed the difference.

They stayed in place through long training days, felt comfortable to wear, looked stylish on my wrist, and actually lasted.

I became determined to bring them to Canada.

What started as a small idea quickly grew into Elastics By Us, a Toronto-based brand built around creating hair elastics that combine performance, style, and everyday comfort.

Today, Elastics By Us offers over 250 colours and has grown into a brand loved by athletes, students, and everyday Canadians across the country.

But at the core, the mission is still the same:
to create hair elastics people genuinely love wearing.
